5 Days Uganda Martyrs Pilgrimage Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kampala
Arrival at Entebbe International Airport and transfer to your booked accommodation in Kampala.
Visit the Uganda Martyrs Shrine in Namugongo to pay respects and learn about the history of the martyrs.
Attend an evening Mass or prayer service at a local church and then return to the hotel for dinner and a night stay.
Day 2: Exploration of Kampala
Visit Rubaga Cathedral, a prominent Catholic church in Kampala with historical significance. Explore the Gaddafi National Mosque, the largest mosque in Uganda, and learn about Islam in the country.
Visit other notable religious sites in Kampala, such as Bahá’í House of Worship or temples representing minority religions. Engage in cultural activities and interact with local communities to learn about their religious practices. After, you will return to your hotel for a relaxation, dinner and night stay.
Day 3: Journey to Namugongo
In the morning after breakfast, you will attend the morning Mass or prayer service at Namugongo Martyrs Shrine.
Participate in a guided tour of the shrine and learn about the stories of the martyrs.
Explore the surrounding area, including the Uganda Martyrs Museum and other historical sites related to the martyrs’ sacrifice.
Join pilgrims from around the world in prayer and reflection at the shrine.
Day 4: Visit to Jinja
In the morning, you will check out of the lodge and embark on the journey to Jinja. On arrival, you will visit the Anglican Shrine of the Uganda Martyrs in Namugongo and learn about the martyrs’ connection to this site.
Then explore Jinja town and visit other attractions, such as the Source of the Nile and historical landmarks. Participate in religious activities and reflections by the Nile River.
After the visit, you will return to Kampala in the evening.
Day 5: Departure
Attend a farewell Mass or prayer service at a local church in Kampala.
Optional: Visit other religious or cultural sites in Kampala, depending on departure time you will be transferred to Entebbe International Airport for departure.
