10 Days Uganda Pilgrimage Journey Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe
Depending on the time of arrival, you will be welcomed by the guide who will brief you about the trip. After, you will be transferred to Kampala for you accommodation where you will relax and prepare for the next day activities.Day 2: Explore Kampala’s religious sites
After morning breakfast, you will visit Namirembe cathedral and Gaddafi national mosque. After, you will have lunch and then explore local markets and neighbourhoods to experience daily life in the Kampala city. Later in the evening, you will attend prayers or services at a local church or mosque and return to the hotel for dinner and night stay.Day 3: Journey to jinja
In the morning, you will check out of the lodge and embark on the journey to jinja. On arrival, you will visit the source of the Nile River, visit local mosques, temples and shrines within jinja. After, you will take a boat ride on the Nile as you enjoy scenic views. Later, you will participate in the evening prayers or spiritual activities and then head to the lodge for dinner and night stay.Day 4: Explore jinja and surrounding area
After morning breakfast, you will explore the nearby attractions. Later, you will visit the historical and cultural sites in jinja such as masese Islamic shrine. After you will be dropped to your hotel for a relaxation, dinner and night stay.Day 5: Transfer to Namugongo
In the morning after breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and embark on the journey to Uganda martyr’s shrine. On arrival, you will spend the whole day exploring the shrine and learning more about the Uganda martyrs as you attend prayers as well participate in spiritual activities at the shrine. Later in the evening, you will reflect on the sacrifices made by the martyrs and the lessons of faith they imparted. You will then head to your hotel for a relaxation, dinner and night stay.Day 6: Spiritual retreat in mityana
In the morning, you will have breakfast and then embark on the journey to mityana which is known for its religious significance and the martyr’s shrine. On arrival, you will relax and spend the whole evening at the lodge as you wait for the next day activities.Day 7: All day in mityana
After breakfast, you will, visit local mosques, churches and shrines which are associated with the Uganda martyrs. You will have lunch and then attend spiritual lectures, discussions and workshops with local religious leaders. After, you will proceed to your hotel for a relaxation, dinner and night stay.Day 8: Transfer back to Kampala
After morning breakfast, you will embark on the journey back to Kampala. You will visit religious sites or land marks that you had missed earlier on your journey as well take time for personal reflection and prayer in the city. On arrival, you will head to your hotel for dinner and night stay.Day 9: Rural mosque visit
After morning breakfast, you will visit rural mosques and Islamic communities outside of Kampala as you experience the warmth of Ugandan hospitality as you interact with locals. You will as well participate in prayers and spiritual discussions with community members. After, you will return to the lodge for refreshment, dinner and night stay.Day 10: Departure
